Well, I know how to install Windows 11 under normal circumstances, but...I am not in them.

Brand new PC (first in 12 years...), just finished setting up & im cleaning up the files...this includes checking the accounts & login screen which has a secondary account just titled my first name - random & probably not needed I thought.

Now...stupidly...I delected this account, thinking my default one with Administrator etc is all I need.

I now cant login into the PC, as when I get to the login screen I have 2 x accounts (with just my first name), but neither let me login. Pin, password everything dosnt let me through. Tried email address, but nothing.

My new PC, from palicomp, wasn't supplied with a USB/password recovery USB,so i am royally stuffed in what I do now....

I do have access to two x OLD PCs, running Windows 7...I have been trying to create a new Windows 11 Boot media to do a fresh install, but I get error messages, I imagine because I am using Windows 7 to run the software.

Just crying out there...any suggestions on options? I can try ringing palicomp tomorrow to post me a USB boot drive or equiv, but just for this evening.... anything I can try? - not fused at losing files at this stage, everything (games) can be reinstalled.

Download the ISO from Microsoft
Download Rufus from rufus.ie
Create a USB stick with GPT format using the ISO

Download Rufus & use it to build yourself a USB installation key:

https://rufus.ie/en/

You can do it all on one of your Win 7 PCs. There are lots of guides on how to use it but try this one:

Rufus can even download the Windows iso files for you. It also allows you to turn off some of the restrictions & requirements (eg TPM) but the most useful one is to create an installation with just a local account so you don't need to tie it to a MS account. This should get you going - I've used it numerous times.

Thanks all, keyboard wouldn't work in safe mode... So rufus it was! Thankfully even on a hooky, windows 7, 15 year old PC.... ISO and rufus saved the day onto a USB, for a fresh install! That's good enough for me.

Thanks again for all the pointers.
