Morning All

I have an Apple watch ultra 1 with 86% battery left. My question is whether it is worth getting a new battery or wait until its under 80%??

Thanks so much

Wait and then get Apple to do it IMO

Do they replace it? I know with the normal models they just give you a new watch - my wife had a S7 and the battery required replacement - they gave her a brand new watch S7, I think it cost £85. Not sure if the Ultra is different.

If you’re noticing the poorer battery life and it’s impacting your utility / causing any inconvenience (e.g. no longer lasting a heavy usage day) then I would perhaps just get it replaced if I was you.

I tend to plan for a battery replacement about half way through my intended product lifecycle - so if I expect to keep an iPhone for 5 years before upgrading then will consider replacing battery 2.5-3 years in (I did this with my last iPhone with 84% left). Of course that’s provided the battery has degraded enough to have some impact on your utility - so not just for the sake of it!

The way I see it that’s better than trying to “live with it” and then getting it a year before you’re looking to upgrade the device anyway!

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/watch/repair suggests £95 so if you are planning to keep it a few more years then maybe worth it
