Where do you sell your spare tech?
Discussion
I've got a lot of 'old' tech sat around that still has plenty of shelf-life, but I don't need any more. Network switches, laptops, hard disks, routers, monitors etc.
FB Marketplace is of course generally awful but has a decent local reach. I've not used Ebay for years; I do have an account but I'm slightly concerned about scammers etc and posting can be a ball ache. Vinted?

I use Gumtree and FB. TBH I haven't had many issues selling via FB. It usually takes a lot longer to sell stuff compared to Ebay (I'm usually quite happy to keep stuff for weeks/months until sold!) but I can set a price and not have to worry about fees, getting scammed and postage as purchasers tend to be local.

Yeah I think maybe I'm just impatient. I've sold a lot of household stuff on FB and it usually goes within a few days, maybe a week. But I price it keenly as I want a quick sale as I need the space (house reno).I might ask my son (11 years old) to take all the pictures for me and give him some of the returns!
Cheers
I was the same, was skeptical of eBay, but since it’s free to sell now I thought I would give it a go
I’ve sold a few old bits of tech on there now and had no problems, a old pair of AirPods that music magpie offered me £8 for I got £35 for, a old iPad I was just going to chuck away I got £10
Sold a Tv and a soundbar which where collected for £250 that I had on FB for months with no bites,
The posting is really easy now, you get a Evri label that’s tracked, print it off in the shop or post office and off you go.
Outside of tech I’ve sold some old suits, some clothes, even some PS4 games music magpie didn’t want.
Lots of stuff you don’t get much for but I feel better flogging it for £10 rather than binning it

AFAIK It's not free as there is a buyer protection fee now?!
I think the buyer pays that Quattr04. said:

I offload some of mine to CEX. I’ve done eBay but sometimes it isn’t worth the hassle and risk for a few extra pounds.
I could probably do a split of both actually. I have some stuff that might be easier to take to CEX, especially as I have a gift voucher for here too that I can spend!I'll get some stuff listed on Ebay tomorrow and see how I get on.
Cheers

Since I retired I’ve sold a few grands worth of tech kit on eBay, never had the slightest problem. I’d recommend carefully photographing and weighing what you’re sending out, just in case
i always use RM tracked delivery so theres no argument on it being delivered, and RM pick up from home for free with a label My selling is with bits that I have no use for but are too nice just to dump, so I'm not trying to maximise how much money I make.
I've used FB marketplace for bits I don't want to post and am happy just to give away (an old case, keyboard), I put them up for £5 and if someone is interested I say they can just have it.
Everything else is on eBay with no reserve.
