Can you still get MS Office older versions and if so where to buy? I had a look online and don't like the look of the sites. One of them was asking me to set up a payment to a sort / account and add a reference number for the product to be sent etc. Where is a trustworthy place?

CD Keys is fine, but if you're after an older version of Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc) ... why not just use Google Docs?

I’ve used (& several other PHers) Ecokeys for MS office.

https://ecokeys.co.uk/microsoft-office/

Currently £9.99 for 2016 pro plus and a bit more for the newer versions

Edited to add. 2016 is out of stock, so £14.99 for 2019 pro plus

Well, already a complete disaster. Bought Office 2019 and it won't install onto the new laptop with an error message around 32 and 64 bit. I have deleted the existing office that came with the laptop and all I get is the same error message. Restarted it numerous times, same error message. So now I have no office at all and can't install what I have bought.

Anyone got any ideas how to make it work?

I presume you uninstalled any old versions rather than just deleted folders?

Can you post the error message you get?

What version of Windows are you installing on it (including x86 or x64)?

Think sorted, ridiculous really. The key I bought was for 32 bit, I had to remove the 64 bit version pore installed, then I ended up having to re download the same 64 bit version, and the 32 bit key worked on that. Took me almost 2 hours of mucking about though. I think I could have just used it straight away without having to remove or add anything.

I recently purchased a key for office 2019 from https://www.gamers-outlet.net/ for £7.20. All worked as expected, instant key and no issues at all installing the 64 Bit version once I had uninstalled the trial version that was installed by default with the laptop.

I had various old versions on CD that I used to use, but now I don't have a CD player anymore I threw them all away and will just do this in future.

What I don't get is that I bought a version that said, when I tried to download, that was 32 bit. After all the mucking about it appears I have managed to download a 64 bit version though using the same download link. Unless the difference between 32 and 64 is negligible? I think the pre-installed MS software accepted the key provided in the end although I lost track with the amount of downloading I did..
