Hello, Can anyone recommend a USB C SSD drive for storage without paying a fortune. 500gb should be ok at minimum.

Thanks all.

I have a Seagate external SSD. I have no criticisms. The 1TB is £50.

Netac. £35. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Netac-ZSLIM500G/dp/B088BT...

Faster drives are available but this is fine for general use.

Or for slightly more (£39) you can basically have a thumb drive. I’ve got two of these, absolutely brilliant. Slow down a little when they get hot but so much faster than a regular usb drive but with the same portability.

I bought a crucial X9 2TB one about 6 months ago. Brilliant thing - very small and portable, very quick to write to (read is slower) and plenty of storage. Currently about £100

In this UGreen enclosure:

Works faultlessly

I bought a couple of the six quid SSD USB-c caddies from ebay

They seem to work fine with any of the drives I had lying around, including a 1 TB spinning job.

Got a couple of the SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSDs and a couple of the SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO Portable SSDs.

Non Extreme/Pro versions are cheaper, if you don't want or need the speed.

All been faultless, personally I wouldn't trust my data to a no-name SSD.

I use the Pro version too primarily for photos, I can edit straight off the drive with no delay or lag, it’s excellent.

Another vote for the UGreen - very impressed with mine.

Hello all,

I bought the Crucial X9 Pro 1TB from Amazon which arrived this afternoon. So far so good. Didn't want to do the caddy and drive in the end as wanted something a little more robust for my bag.

Thanks for the recommendations all.
