Brother Printer Problems

I'm having priniting issues with the forum favourite Brother printer & I'd like to see what sort of print quality others are getting. I have an MFC-L3750CDW & recently I've noticed that while black test is fine anything with areas of colour is not with horrible graining & banding, especially in the yellows. The printer is two years old & still on the original Brother toner cartridges with a reported level of just under 50% for each colour. This is a test print & you can see the yellow patches & grainy printing.





I've run a calibration & registration process, cleaned the LEDs & corona wires & given the toner a shake - this is what the yellow looks like which doesn't seem right:

Brother & the supplier are saying it's out of warranty & I'll need to send the printer 50 miles to the nearest service center, which isn't impressive for something that has only run a few hundred prints.
