Elderly friend with an iphone, sends us pictures from phone as email. Fine, except what she sends is very small. It's a 320X240 jpg.

How please can I advise her to alter her phone settings to email original size pictures? (I really know nothing about apple stuff!)

When you press 'send' it asks if you want to scale the image to small, medium, large or actual size. I'm guessing she's selecting small all the time.

I have contacts which do this and it is annoying.

Thank you for this, it worked. I suggested how to choose a larger format, and we now have a picture we can see!

PH scores again.

I don't recall the specs exactly, but I think even "Large" on that choice is still relatively low res. I always ask people to send them "Actual Size" then you have options yourself.

It depends on the picture resolution to start with as to the file size it downgrades to.

These are 2 x pictures on my iPhone, one a picture received via WhatsApp 3Mp I think, the other a 24Mp picture I took.

24mp

3mp
