I've had a few Moto Gs but the G32 has been a bit flaky, poor BT and touchscreen mostly. Today though, a whole new level of issues.

No sound. Ringtone is vibrate only and when I called my landline answerphone, I couldn't hear or be heard.
Went to Settings/Apps/all apps and BT is not present.
Opened BT from main screen, won't stay on or register paired devices.
I did a BT reset via settings/reset options, no change.
I did a BT/WIFI etc resent via settings/reset options.
Blink cameras recording still picture only.
Youtube works with no sound but if it goes to an ad it just just does the waiting/circular symbol.
I've restarted it several times.
Wifi and texts are working.

I think that's it! Any suggestions would be very welcome, although I suspect it's terminal. Thanks.

If it is terminal, suggestions for a budget phone would be welcome. Currently considering a Moto G (reluctantly but the previous G, G3 and G5 were OK) or Samsung Galaxy A14, for example.

Thanks.

The Moto G75 is getting very good reviews.

I like the Moto G series, and the biggest difference for this G75 is the commitment to many years of Android upgrades.

Thanks I'll have a look. Yes, the 3 previous MotoGs I've had have been adequate, except for memory capacity, even with an SD card.

Weirdly, after I did a backup the sound came back and Blink was working normally. BT had forgotten the saved devices, probably dud to my resetting it.

It's only an issue if it does it again, leaving me without a phone.

My Moto G32 seems very robust and I will be disappointed when time comes to change it.

My HP laptop stopped connecting by WiFi just before Christmas. I assumed it was a driver issue but it seems the WiFi adapter was physically disconnected no idea how. I had to accept it was time for a change, and now find that Win11 and Outlook 2024 take a bit of getting used to. Thats life!

I think you need to bite the bullet.

I switched from Moto G phones to Samsung Galaxy A phones. I think the Moto G phones are better.

It seemed to fix itself last night, working as normal. But back to the same issues this morning. Yes, time to replace it I think. Thanks for the comments and re Samsung too.

For closure: thanks for the comments. BT had to be repaired before and still wasn't good and I think this was the issue. Somehow blocking the sound.

So I replaced it with a Moto G54. It does 5G, 8gb RAM and 256 gb memory, 2 years warranty, £140. Collected within a few hours from Argos at Sainsbury's, which is good. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3361409

It's noticeably faster than previous phones, and although I set it up from a Google back up, if I'd had a type3 to type 3 cable it might have transferred the passwords etc. But no matter. It seemed a little slow to fully charge, better once I'd turned off optimal charging (I think). I think the G32 was a bit flaky so this is much more pleasant to use.

Thanks.

Thanks. If it misbehaves I'll post up. Btw I'd just bought a G32 case. It fits the G54, not perfectly but fine.
