Whatsapp external backup (Android phone)

Hi all,
I would like to backup my whatsapp before changing phones. It's currently being backup up to my google drive.
Worried something might go wrong when changing phones and I cannot risk loosing the messages, pictures, voice notes.

I do not mind paying for an app, have seen a couple advertised online, but unsure if they will work reliably.
Hoping someone can chime in with a good suggestion.

Never had any issues moving WhatsApp from one device to another and using GDrive as the back up destination

Do it properly; it'll transfer with no issues

Just make sure the latest backup is done a few mins before swap over and it will be fine.

Haven't had any issues over the years transfering. But have heard that there can be issues or maybe I make a mistake, so would be ideal if there's a good way to make a backup of all the messages with voice notes/pictures/videos, as require it for a potential court case against someone

Is there a way of just saving them to your phone before hand? Instead of through WhatsApp?

You can see the WhatsApp backup in Google Drive via a browser but to download and access it, you need a 3rd party tool.

TenorShare says it can do it but I've never used it myself

thanks, that's one of the ones I spotted being advertised.
If anyone has used and had positive results with it or similar would give peace of mind before going ahead with it or something similar
