I have just had EE fibre installed and have bought a mesh.
Can I do away with the EE router and connect the mesh directly to the white boxes?
Mesh is TP-Link M4 and currently plugged into the ee with the ee WiFi turned off

My TP Link Deco mesh can be configured in router mode or access point mode. If you have this option, it should work.

I'm still on copper with BT. I use the BT hub as the router, with the "master" mesh unit in access point mode.
I opted to keep the hub as the router as it makes it easier for BT to diagnose line faults, and gives me resilience if the mesh fails.

Yes, I have done it with Deco devices and similar fibre.

You will need to know the connection settings, username and password. Connection setting will be something like "PPPoE", and the username/password may be unique to you, or common. You will probably have to ask EE for it. (It's nothing to do with the wifi password etc).
