Really impressed with this so far; bought it to replaced my M1 Mac Mini and run as my personal computer. The M1 MBA is my work Mac

Took about an hour to migrate from the Mini to the iMac and the screen is superb

I've gone for the 24GB RAM/512 GB SSD version in silver with the full numeric Touch ID keyboard and latest trackpad; both USB C

It's nice to have a lot less clutter over the Mac Mini, BenQ monitor, USB C hubs etc

I'm desperately trying to justify one of these. My personal laptop is an M1 MBA and my work laptop is a MBP M1Pro so don't really need anything else but these really appeal.

I went from a M1 air to an M4 pro, there’s been a massive improvement.

Some may be due to the 24gb upgraded RAM and hard drive, I was almost full on the original 256gb hard drive and regularly running way over the 8gb standard RAM.

I was seriously tempted with the 16" MBP but with already having the M1 MBA and really I need a larger screen for when I'm sorting out docs for work (MS office, Adobe etc)

The iMac works superbly as a shared screen with my MBA (when I'm working in the office, which is hard currently due to a few health issues but also the wood burner is lit in the living room...) biggrin

So the question is, do you need two laptops? wink

Mac Mini?

Again I was tempted with this; but wanted the best screen I could get without going too big; a 27" screen for me is too big for my desk. So the 24" iMac is perfect as my BenQ monitor was 25"

And agree; the 24GB RAM makes it super, super slick!

I sold the M1 Mac Mini and all the other bits on eBay within 2 days of listing them

I had a Mac mini in the past, the new one was very tempting.

Most of the time my MacBook is connected to a 27 inch monitor and keyboard/mouse so a mini would have been possible.

However, there are times when I need to work remotely and using the MacBook as a second screen is useful when I’m working on one document and referring to another rather same time.

I’d looked at the 16 inch MacBook and the extra screen is useful but it’s too big and heavy compared to the 14 inch. I was surprised how much better the 14 inch was compared to the 13 inch air I used to have. The better screen makes it more useable for smaller text.

If you are travelling between two locations having two cheap monitors and keyboards/mice is possible as you can just stick a mini in your pocket.
