Toy drones .. loss of signal

The simple non-GPS drones that you can buy from toy shops.. if you are flying them and a gust of wind takes them out of controller range.. what do they generally do? Hover ? Land? Attempt to RTB?

(no, I don’t live near any RAF bases)
