Wired Lightning headphones for running

For years, I've just used the 'free' headphones that come with iphones. Typically when working on the garden or walking the dog. But they're hopeless for running and constantly fall out. I've messed around with wireless ear buds that have claimed to be great for running and maybe they have been slightly better but still fall out after a while and are then prone to going missing. I also hate the faff of charging things. I have too many things already that need charging.

So, dinosaur question I know and I assume I might now have to look for secondhand on ebay, but what is out there in terms of lightning compatible running headphones? Maybe ideally with a head band like old walkmans so they stay put. I'd rather not go down the 3.5mm route as I do like to have the controls on the cable and I assume 3.5mm rules that out. I'd probably also avoid noise cancelling unless it can be switched off.

I'd look at shokz bone conduction headphones. Can still hear traffic and the world around you. Wireless but a lot of of running watches can control what your phone is playing which might negate the need for controls on the cable?

I know its not what the OP asked for, but another vote for Trekz, I have the Titanium and the battery life is about 5 or 6 hours so not really much of a nause to charge them. Sound quality not as good as decent ear buds but I much prefer to be able to hear what's going on around me when running. You can control the volume, pause and skip tracks from the buttons on the headphones.

For wired, take a look at the ones that hook over your ear, I used to use a pair of the basic Phillips Sport ones and never had a problem with them working loose. Not sure who makes them with a lightening connector though.

Thanks both. They sound like good options if I cannot finnd exactly what I'm after. Though have to admit, I'd still ideally find a cable option.

Whats the advantage to it being wired?

I found wireless bluetooth far superior, especially for exercise.

Another vote for Shokz Open run Pros. That has a band connecting the 2 sides so you can’t just lose one. Currently £109 on a black friday Amazon deal.

To be honest the wired thing is because I'm just sick of having so many things to charge all the time. Just today, I've charged my phone, the dog's glowing collar, a camera, a garmin watch and a head torch. I'm very happy for headphones to just piggy back off my phone battery. But actually as it happens I cannot find anything other than apple's own headphones that have a native lightning cable so wireless is maybe the inly option. I can see that the Shokz are looking like a great choice.

Aftershokz are the best option and like other Bluetooth options also mean you could play media from an Apple Watch and not bother to take the phone with you at all if you wanted.

I know what you mean, sometimes I think my life is run by having to charge stuff, there is a mild anxiety to running out of power across all the different devices.
