When my daughter connects her iPhone to my car (Kia EV6), there is a side panel that appears with the current album/playlist that you can scroll through and select another song. When I connect my Samsung S24 I dont get this. Did some Googling and it seemed it might be related to the AVRCP version. I changed this is dev settings to 1.6 but makes no difference.

The car obviously supports it, is it an Android thing, or possibly Apple Music for Android.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get it working? I know I can use Android Auto and get the full app on screen but that only works with a USB connection and I CBA with the faff just want to put my phone in the wireless charging cradle

Have you tried selecting any of the older AVRCP options?
(I'd also reboot the phone after changing the AVRCP version so as to force a fresh BT connection with the car).

Other than that watch for a decent Android Auto wireless adapter in the Black Friday sales?

Thanks, tried all that, still no worky. Tried Spotify as well and that doesn't do anything either. Android definitely supports it because it's referenced in the Developer Docs.

Possibly it's a Samsung thing, just seems like there is no reason it shouldn't work.

AA dongle is fine, I heard they can be laggy. I'm not fussed AA anyway as I don't need google maps because the on board Sat nav is decent and I can get turn directions in the HUD.

Don't have a kia, but in my car you have to change the Bluetooth settings on the phone for that device. There was various options to allow or not allow certain things. Most were turned off by default. Turning them on made everything show up.
