Could anyone who knows about such things lend me a hand? I don't know much about this sort of stuff so you'll have to use crayons biggrin

I have a detached garage that is out of range of the home wifi. There is an ethernet cable already running to it, and I would like to have wifi in the garage.

I did my research and landed on a Ubiquiti U6+ wireless access point along with a POE injector thingy to power it.

I have a sky Q hub like this in the house.

When I plug the wireless access point in, it definitely turns on, but then just nothing happens. Doesn't appear on the unifi app to do any type of setup.
I was hoping it was just plug and play, but the more I look there are people talking about needing gateways and switches and all sorts, making me think this isn't the right thing to be using.

I suppose the question here is
1) Is this a suitable product for what I'm trying to do?
2) Is there something simpler that IS just plug and play if not

Thanks

I purchased a Unifi LR AP last year.

I set up using the phone app - think it should initially connect via bluetooth then take you through the setup process.

I did have to hold in the reset button on the AP (whilst powered up) to trigger this if I remember correctly.

Thank you, I'll have another try tonight.

I had the app open and it was searching for devices and couldn't see anything, but I wasn't sure if that was what I was supposed to be doing so I didn't persevere very long.
