Possibly a stupid question but I’ll ask anyway. My internet with virgin has gone down. I think it’s the hub that virgin supplied.

They can’t get an engineer out until Wednesday but I need internet before then as wfh.

Can I buy a router to run with my deco mesh, if so any recommendations please.

Is hotspotting from your phone not an option?

Yes can do that but but not sure how well it will work on video calls.

I don’t mind paying out for a router if it’s possible to swap with the virgin supplied one ?

If it's Virgin cable broadband, I think you're stuck, your service is tied to that hub.

Is the VM hub actually dead though ? Have you tried plugging something into the back of it with ethernet?

You can't replace the modem part of your hub as it's linked to your account and inly their kit works on their network anyway. All you can do is hope it's the router part of the hub that's gone. Put it into modem mode and use your mesh system as your router.

If that doesn't work then it's a line or hub/modem issue and nothing will change until that engineer arrives
