I have a spare PC 4k monitor, which is bigger than my ktchen TV, can I just plug it in with a Firestick?

If it works then the answer is yes. Assuming having no TV tuner is not a problem ?

Yes, I’ve done this before.

Only thing is monitors don’t always have speakers, and if they do they are quite poor quality.

I used to use a set of PC speakers plugged into the headphone socket of the monitor, they’re not too expensive and give a decent sound.

You might be able to plug in auxiliary jack or USB speakers or use Bluetooth.

If using Bluetooth then one faf might be having to re-connect every time you power on.

In the kitchen I use a firestick connected to an old monitor, with the firestick linked to an echo for sound. Works well, and the sound quality is much better than most TV speakers would provide.

Loads of monitors have wee speakers in them now. The question really, should be, can I use my TV as a monitor? because the difference between the two offerings is becoming vanishingly small now.

Could I use my telly as a monitor?

I have a 32" QLED that I'm about to upgrade. Could this be put into service as a monitor?

Thanks for the suggestions,, mine sadly has no speakers.

Would the power supply be enough to run some pc speakers?

That would be the best option I think, it has an audio out port

Absolutely - modern cards have HDMI outputs. You may find the resolution a bit low on a 32" TV assuming it is 1080p. I tried using a 32" 1080p TV some time back and found it too big to be sat close to.

Just makes sure you turn off ALL image "enhancements"/sports mode/anti blur/image sharpening etc.
