Brave and YT links

I have a Macbook Air using the Brave browser and recently if I click on a YT link embedded in a post (on PH) it fails to load and the screen just sits there flashing. I can copy the link into Chrome or Safari and it works perfectly, anybody else have this problem?

Probably not helpful but it's working OK for me on an M1 Mac, in Brave, clicking on links that open a new tab in Youtube, and for embedded videos (here in Pistonheads). If you're in any way techie, pressing F12 (or View \ Developer \ Developer Tools from the menu) will open stuff that might give you clues as to what's going on; but if you are techie you probably already knew that ...

Are you following the link or is there all the tracking gumph tacked onto the end of it??

Different problem for me, but may be related:

If I click on a link in a PH post, Brave opens a new window.
It also puts a tab in the bar across the tab saying "2 Tabs".

If I close the new window, it then has a tab saying "1 Tab".

The only way I can get rid of this pointless "1 Tab" tab is by closing the PH window, then opening a new window.

It has also done this "2 Tabs" thing to a couple of tabs that I've left open for a few days on the Ikea website.

Annoying, and I want it gone, but I've no idea what "problem" to Google to find a solution?

Same issue here except the only problem I get is it takes and age to load and start playing from clicking the link.

Just downloaded this onto a new tablet, jezus what of a pile of crap and I have used Brave for several years.

The search on it is just terrible, even setting the search engine to google and using exact same search terms it is unuseable, have tried turning off the AI, etc but useless.

Any suggestions as overall I like the browser?

I binned Brave as when I played YT videos, it shut down. I switched to Opera. Still works fine on my Android phone.

I'd recommend Arc with uBlock Origin Lite and PrivacyBadger and/or Ghostery added.

Better UI and the extensions bring it towards Brave's posture.
