Going round and round in circles on this one and it's predictably driving me nuts. iPhone 16 with iOS 18 and 2019 iMac with Sequoia 15.0. I started using my iPhone as a webcam the other day using Continuity with no dramas but wanted to mirror the phone on my desktop so I can control Naim/Tidal that I use to stream to a speaker behind me and I cannot get it to work.

I've checked the system requirements and they both seem to meet the reqts but when I start the mirroring app on the Mac it just repeatedly asks me to unlock the phone, which I do, and then it just asks me to do it again. Repeat ad nauseam. I've tried a reset within the app itself but just says failed a try again later.

Any ideas anyone before I give both of them a Viking funeral?

Ok, think I've bottomed it out. I had a feeling it had something to do with my Mac as the system reqts are:

Mine is an Intel but I don't have the T2 Security Chip so that's that. Not a massive issue but would have been quite nifty to have.

No consolation, but mirroring works really well on Apple Silicon and is great way to bring up iPhone-only apps on the desktop

I’ve got a 2019 MBP with an Intel i5. Mirroring works with my 12 Pro. I don’t find it terribly useful though.

Interesting, mine's an Intel Core i5 as well. Do you have the T2 chip though?

I’ve no idea to be honest. It just worked.

I used it for a few mins and I can’t say I thought “this is going to be very useful. Not sure I see the point in it really.

For those having issues, I think I've found the solution, if, you have multiple iPhones ....

On the Mac, under settings -> desktop and dock

Scroll down to the Widgets section, then from the dropdown, select the iPhone you wish to use for mirroring.

It wasn't working for me, as my work phone was selected which isn't yet upgraded to iOS 16.

There’s only one person having problems on this thread - me. Unless you can come to my house and physically insert a T2 Security Chip then..?
