I have an iPhone SE (2020)...and just received the notification for the IOS 18 upgrade.

I usually do upgrade every time, but I am just about to go on a driving holiday to Europe....and I do not want any issues with the new software....if indeed there have been any so far ?

PS I am not a Tech Geek.....!!!

IMO - Wait until the .1 release (ie v18.1 or v18.0.1).

It seems stable enough, but I wouldn’t upgrade until you get back.

I've been on the beta release for some time now and I've not had any problems. I quite like the more customisable home screen but aside from that I've not used any remarkable new features.

Battery life the same, no real difference.

Works fine for me, no issues. Seems very stable.

I can't really see much difference tbh? (iphone 15 pro) I'm sure there's something, but apart from the swipe down menu design, I'll be buggered if I can find anything else at the moment?

Push and hold the Home Screen, edit, customise and edit the icons. Black icons with colour tints are cool as fk cool

Oh the alarm is quieter, it was going off for 7 minutes this morning, need to find a way to make it louder.

Moved to IOS 18 on my Iphone 15 Pro as soon as it came out, i'm pretty underwhelmed by it to be honest, not seeing any big benefits but no issues with it either, phone works perfectly

Not all OS updates are about releasing new features.

The only iOS device I have is a work provided iPhone XR, every time a new version of iOS is released we are told not to update before they have tested software works but I've just updated to iOS today and everything works as expected.

Cool, maybe. But it lasted less than 10 seconds for me when I couldn’t figure out at a glance what app was what.

Upgrade after you come back. If its mission critical, I always delay updates, unless its purely security related. Apple will still push those out to the ‘old’ OS separately.

Works good for me, no problems. But also nothing special

I wonder if it’ll be the next iteration that will introduce problems as that’s when we get the enhanced SIRI

absolutely fine, no problems whatsover.

As a Mac user, the ability to control / operate my phone from my mac, without actually needing to pick up the phone, is a really useful feature, and (finally) the ability to customise the home screen/widgets etc is useful. But no absolute must-haves.

Done it on my 14 Pro Max, my latest iPad Air, the wife’s 12 pro max & her 2020 iPad.

No issues at all. Everything seems the same except the settings seem harder to navigate.

I didn't realise that was available in the uk. I wonder if it would function if you were on a vpn or using an ethernet cable. Would it be able to connect direct?

I've been using it for several weeks; it was a bit flaky on one or two of the earlier betas but it's quite stable now, and jolly useful to have the phone on a large screen. Two different sizes, too. Actual size and 'larger'..

Only connects via Bluetooth afaik

Me too. I like the enable FaceID feature for your apps. Not bothered about changing icon colours or other fluff but it's been stable so don't see why you wouldn't update
