PC/Laptop for Minecraft

My 8y/o had declared having Minecraft on a Switch and a PS4 simply isn’t enough and suggested we should have Java edition on the home laptop.
I’d rather not as no one else will get a look in, but also have no idea whether it’d meet the minimum requirements for gaming.

If anyone would give me an idea of the minimum specs I should be looking for on a laptop, with idiot proof breakdowns of must haves i’d be grateful. Ideally this would be as cheap as possible!

I know these guys, so if any of there used stock would be up to scratch that’d easily sort it, but if upgraded graphics cards etc are required it might not be economical as they’re mainly ex office stock:
