Hi All

I'm looking to get FTTP installed and one of the shortlisted suppliers so far provides the Zyxel EX-5600/5601 modem/router.

Does anyone have any experience of this product, good or bad?

https://www.zyxel.com/service-provider/global/en/p...

Any advice much appreciated

Nope,

the one we have refuses to connect the IPV6 and won’t connect to DNS servers other than those being pushed by the ISP.

I have a VMG8623-T50B which was provided by my ISP when I switched to FTTP. While the admin inerface is feels a little more basic and hard work to do stuff than I would like it has so far proven to be far more reliable than the ASUS it replaced.

Thanks everyone for your responses, much appreciated beer

If I do find the router is ste once installed does anyone have a recommendation for one that may be better?

Requirements include - reliable, reasonably easy to use interface, ability to link to a mesh network to provide coverage over a three floor townhouse (built 2001 so no thick walls)

I don't want to spend a fortune but decent coverage is essential as there are two of us that work from home, on two different floors for the majority of the week. The fibre termination point will be on the middle floor.

If an alternative solution is required I would be looking to spend ~ £300ish tops

Forgot to add the provider would be Lightning Fibre if that makes any difference?

The only two within reasonable cost and suitable for up to a 2.5Gb internet connection and WIFI7 are from Netgear and TP LINK, with the latter being slightly more favourable.
