Hi

I have an aged IPAD 2017 PRO 10.5 and the battery is starting to go on it.

I use it only for Social media content and checking emails.....is it worth uograding and to what?

cheers

If it does all you need, just have the battery replaced by Apple.

Far cheaper than buying a new iPad!

It depends on what you are going to do with it. I’m just about to upgrade/sell my 11” iPad Pro M1 3rd gen for no other reason than I’m about to go on holiday in the US and have found a cheap deal on the latest M4 model, but honestly my current iPad does everything really well and is as more than capable for everything you are likely to do on it.

iPad Pros are ridiculously expensive now so I would try and get a deal on a year old model if you are dead set on upgrading.

You can pick up a brand new 2022 10.9" 10th generation iPad for only £325 if you don't need the pro features.

The only thing I missed from the pro was the anti-reflective screen, but the ordinary ones are ok in most lighting conditions.

Yes 100% upgrade the 2017 pro is a 7 year old model.

Had a 10.5 2017 iPad Pro the battery was rapidly deteriorating, then I dropped it down the stairs and had no choice, so replaced it with a new 2022 Air it’s a massive upgrade. Only downside is no flash.
I use mine for similar things to you, casual browsing, socials, this. The current air is more than good enough and 1/2 the price of a pro.

What you really need is 13-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi + Cellular 2TB with nano-texture glass ,

Currently £3077.

I have the original iPad Pro bought in 2015. My kid is main user, uses it to pop bubbles, but it still works fine.
