Tapo D230S1 Doorbell - anyone got one?

Having problems with my Ring doorbell, so I've just bought a Tapo D230S1.
Other Tapo devices that I've bought have worked very reliably, I was hoping that this doorbell would be user-friendly too.
I've set it up in the Tapo app, and it automatically linked to Alexa.
The Alexa announcements when the doorbell is rung are winding me up though.
I've given the doorbell a "friendly name" in both the Tapo app and the Alexa app - "front door".
Alexa insists on speaking out the default Tapo name though. When the doorbell is pressed, my Echo devices switch to the video feed, and Alexa says
"someone is at your tapo underscore doorbell underscore one A E C"
This is the default name, last part being the final bit of the mac address. Speaking out "_" as "underscore" is just crazy.
Seriously annoying, and I can't see how to change it.
