Anyone else had an email from Virgin saying one of their devices has a virus?
Odd thing is we've been away for a month so nothing has been used apart from the WiFi being left on for Hive, security cameras and ring doorbell.

From internet-security@virginmedia.com

Your home devices could be at risk

We’ve been notified by a third party that a device on your home network has participated in a Denial of Service attack, which is where a computer system sends a large amount of traffic to another computer system or network with the aim of disrupting its connection to the Internet.

We don’t know which device this is, but it does mean your personal data and online financial transactions, including credit card purchases, could be at risk.

What has happened?

It’s likely that a device connected to your broadband either has a security vulnerability that is allowing this traffic to pass through your home connection or one of your devices is infected with malware.

This probably isn’t your fault, but it's important you get your device fixed so the malicious traffic stops as soon as possible. We’ll help you do this below.

We need to let you know that if you don’t get it fixed, to protect others we may need to suspend or cancel your broadband service in line with our Acceptable Use Policy.

Historically, a lot of consumer IOT devices have relatively weak security - so I'd start looking at any of the cheap connected devices first, although that doesn't rule out things like older printers which might be connected to your network too.

When I had a Virgin cablemodem, I got one of those emails once.

No idea what could have triggered it, didn't do anything on my end to 'fix' the problem, never heard anything more about it.

Back from holiday and I have 2 outdoor smart switches that stopped letting me login while away.
Tried resetting them and there’s some odd login details there so I’ve just swapped them back to standard 13amp sockets.
Hopefully as we were away and nothing has been on?
I’m fingers crossed.

I was lucky as I had a phone call from a very helpful lady from Asia to point out that my BT internet was compromised at the weekend. This didn't really help me with my Virgin services though.
