iPhone 13, 14, or 15?

Buying a new phone for daughter. Standard version,128gb memory. Prices are
Is 13 decent enough? I presume it will be able to handle future OS versions the same as the 14, so thinking of going for that one.
- 13 £600 A15 chip
- 14 £700 A15 chip
- 15 £800 A16 chip

I've been using an SE for over a year now, coming from a giant all bells & whistles Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
Smallish battery (Easy go, easy come though - Charges up fairly quick), low on jazz-factor (Camera etc) but it runs every app I need it to in a perfectly satisfactory manner - And that's as a fairly intensive user.
Any of the above would do perfectly; I did use an iPhone 11 for a while - Functionally identical to the newer models with face ID etc, barring the cameras again.
Pop to CEX and see what is cheap and in stock - and isn't too damaging to her street cred

As a father to two teenage daughters she will want whatever iPhone has the highest model number.
IPhones are a status aymbol to teenage girls, having an old phone is the equivalent to poverty.
You think I jest, but they know exactly what model all of their friends have.
Getting her an SE would be the equivalent of getting her a bright yellow Fiat Chinquento as her first car.

This is the worst advice possible. Do the exact opposite.Smallish battery (Easy go, easy come though - Charges up fairly quick), low on jazz-factor (Camera etc) but it runs every app I need it to in a perfectly satisfactory manner - And that's as a fairly intensive user.

This is for a teenager that has social and peer pressures etc. - while that may not be an issue to you - but like it or not, its definitely an issue for them.
Go with the 15 or the 14. Do not get the 13 - its nearly 3 yrs old now and she will almost definitely to be considered a pauper for having such.

I'd be getting a 13 Pro (or a Samsung S24 :P ). It at least has 120Hz display, the 15 doesn't even have that which sucks.
Ask your daughter if she is bothered about having the latest phone, this may help you decide whether it's worth spending more on a 15 or save on a 13 or 14. She maybe overcome with joy that she has a 15, depressed as hell that she has a 13 or couldn't care less. There's £200 difference between the cheapest and dearest, depends if that £200 is worth spending or not.

Get the 13 and say it's a 14. Looks exactly the same.

To be fair, I'm not sure you're a teenage girl, therefore what would work for you, isn't what would work for the OP's daughter.I'd be getting a 13 Pro (or a Samsung S24 :P ). It at least has 120Hz display, the 15 doesn't even have that which sucks.
The differences between 13, 14 & 15 are subtle, but very noticeable if you know what you're looking for (and teenage girls do!).
OP, ask your daughter what she wants.
BTW, Apple do 0% on all phones, so a 15 is only £8/month more that a 13.

If you buy from Apple, those are the prices. But you can buy them outright on Amazon (brand new) at the moment for less:- 13 £600 A15 chip
- 14 £700 A15 chip
- 15 £800 A16 chip

Iphone 14 at £599: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-iPhone-14-128-GB/dp...
iPhone 15 at £687: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CHX3RPHZ
I have to do the same thing in the next few months so have been tracking prices! Daughter has an SE and is whinging, and whoever said they all know what their friends have, they are right. They do all know that stuff, and it does matter.

Any of those listed will be excellent choices imo.
Did she have an iPhone before or this her first?

Do you have a teenage daughter?
If you did, you'll understand, otherwise you won't.
100% this. When my 16 year old passed her GCSEs, I and my mother each gave her £15 per point. If you did, you'll understand, otherwise you won't.
She spent a large chunk of this money, £1199 on an Apple 15 Pro Max. This is her "dream phone" as she refers to it. I currently have a £300 android Honor 70.
Number 2 daughter is going to be 16 in December, she is already telling everyone she wants money to buy an iPhone 16, she currently has a 12.
You would also be amazed how "glitchy" a phone can get when they want to get an upgrade. Also when it runs out of storage don't use logic like backing up the photos and deleting them. The only solution apparently is to get a new phone and put the old one in a draw never to be looked at again.
In my opinion all Apple phones from 11 onwards look exactly the same, but apparently to image obsessed teenage girls it massively matters.
I don't get it at all and absolutely hate Apple the few times they have got me took at them. I am quite happy with my Chinese £300 android phones that I change every five years or so, and that are in my opinion better in a lot of ways.
If only because you can use the shed mentality and if you drop it just buy another one.
But to teenage girls the iPhone version you have shows how far up the food chain you are.
