Youtube comments and play list vanished

Anyone else had this?

I think its been like this for a couple of days now.

Same over different PCs. Tried to delete cookies etc not made any difference.

Is it me or them!

It's now to the side rather than below I believe someone else said on another thread.

Not that its moved, its totally gone - just blank. I know they moved it all.

Have you got any ad blockers or similar running?

If so, try disabling them.

ABP is on - uninstalled it - no difference.

Also checked restricted mode and its off.

Its doing this over 2 different PCs too.

Same for me, no diff on Safari on Mac or Chrome on Windows, tried multiple machines, inc my work laptop over VPN and going out through their internet connection instead.

What I found odd is that on Chrome on my MacBook which isn't logged in to Youtube didn't have the problem.

Disabled adblocker in the browser and also on PiHole (I run that for DNS and whole network ad blocking) and no difference.

Quick search online shows we aren't alone in this.

Hopefully it just goes away because I don't have the motivation to spend more time looking at it.

Fine for me on Firefox with uBlock Origin running. MacBook Pro M2 running Sonoma 14.5.

A few days ago videos that I know I’ve watched are showing as unwatched, which is really annoying as I use on the red line at the bottom a lot to see what I might have missed. Everything else ok (list of subscriptions and (I think) comments, although I don’t make many). In some cases a whole channel is showing as unwatched. Don’t know if it’s related to the OP’s problem.

Found a solution

Install UBlock Origin

Then go to settings

Then in scripts add a user script as follows

youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.EXPERIMENT_FLAGS.kevlar_watch_grid, false)

Press apply.

Close all browsers.

Should now work.

I have done this on my laptop and desktop and I now have comments again.

There is a problem with this scrip though is it hides your controls / full screen etc.

I can live with that for now.

With no action on my side at all it's just started working again.

Assume they've pushed an update, maybe even as an a/b test, that's broken it for a selection of people and that's it just been replaced or magically switched over.

If only they can now undo the stupid new layout nobody asked for.

Yep same here just disabled the above script and its not back to normal. Typical!

The plus side is the above script puts the comments back to where they used to be... so I might actually keep that running for now.

With this update that seems to have happened most of the controls are back too, just the full screen is missing now but you can double click so I am prob going to keep the script running for the time being.
