BBC Iplayer problem

Cant get I player to work using an Nvidia shield.

Wont repond to any button press.

Also cant un-install it as this option is greyed out.

Anyone else had this problem?

The iPlayer app from the BBC for the Shield TV used to be an app written specifically for the Shield, and slightly different to the standard Android TV app. Do you have an option to disable the app in the app settings, or an option to uninstall updates to the iPlayer app?

My iPlayer app disappeared years ago from the Shield, as we're not in the UK and it eventually decided we were outside its territory - even though we only used it with a VPN running.
What I did then was side load the regular iPlayer app for Android TV onto the Shield and that still works to this day using a VPN. It's an old version of the app now, I never bothered updating it since that install as it's working.

Yes it says it can be disabled.

Will look into it.

Its not a great problem as I have the iplayer on another TV through a firestick.

Just annoying really.
