I'm chair of the Patient Participation Group at my GP's practice and want to publish a newsletter for patients. I'm looking at Mailchimp and I see that a postal address is needed and will appear in the published newsletter; is this always required irrespective of who I use?

As I'm a volunteer I don't want my address publicised and I can't use a surgery address as there are nine different sites.

Any ideas?

I believe you need to add a physical address to your mailing list:

"it’s necessary to have a valid, physical postal address at the bottom of emails sent from your email marketing provider.

If you’re in the UK this falls under the UK Companies Act and the Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations. If you fall foul of the law you could see yourself in a Magistrates Court with a fine of up to £5,000, or worse up to £500,000 if taken to the Crown Court."

Thanks, I think I'd better familiarise myself with the requirements of the PECR.
