My son wants to get a custom keyboard made for his gaming PC. He’s specced one up an alt.customs but no only are they in the US but their reviews are shocking in the main.

Can anyone recommend a source in Europe (ideally UK) please? It’s his birthday money and I don’t him to end with something crap or have to wait months for it to come from the states.

Thanks!

He'd be better off building his own, but it's a big rabbit hole to go down.
We need some idea of budget, preferred form factor, switches, and caps. There's plenty of hot-swappable keyboard bases out there for not enormous money these days, this was not the case 10 years ago and I'd recommend one of these as a starting point if he's not completely sure what he wants. No soldering required to build whatever he wants. Add in some red (or yellow) switches for gaming(can't stand them myself, but linear switches seem to be preferred for gaming), and some cheap caps, and he's got a starting point.
My current favorite rig, I picked up a barebones GMMK TKL for ~$90, everglide crystal violet switched for ~$50 and drop MT3 profile caps for another $90 (not recommended for gaming, standard profile would be better). Thats's for a typing keyboard.
I've started a budget build of the same with a base half the price and switches from aliexpress for ~$15 and it's nothing like as nice. I'm replacing the switches to see if this helps, but I think it's just too flexible compared to the GMMK. Like I said, it's a big rabbit hole.

Overclockers sell a range of parts https://www.overclockers.co.uk/peripherals/keyboar...

But as mentioned it's a rabbit hole laugh

Aliexpress will be cheaper and have a vast vast range, would sir like gateron melodic, magnetic jade or baby kangaroo?

Let’s just stick to keyboards for now. I’ll worry about lunch later.

Will check out overclockers though, thank you.
