Where to buy a refurbished iPhone
Discussion
One of my children wanted an iPhone so I bought a "renewed" 14 plus on Amazon. It has screen scratches and a shonky after-market charger. I note that the battery can be 80% and still be classed as "excellent".
It was however £480 against Apple refurbished £759.
I am toying with whether to return is and buy from Apple. The decision will be made when we see what the battery health is. I am a bit wary of it though and I don't think "renewed" really describes it. "Repaired maybe"?
Any experience of Apple refurbed chaps please?

You can buy a brand new 14 or 14 Plus on Amazon for £599.
Just bought a brand new Iphone 15 (in pink) for my wife for £681 from Amazon as well. Good pricing at the momentLouis Balfour said:

As the Apple website says - www.apple.com/uk/shop/refurbished/about"Refurbished iOS devices will come with new battery and outer shell. Every device will come with all accessories, cables and operating systems."Having bought a number of Apple refurbished items I could not tell them from a brand new item, other than it came in a plain white box rather than the product specific box.
For all the other companies that claim to refurbish, I would suggest that their 'refurbishment' isn't refurbishment, but is simply a 'plug into a diagnostic to see if it works' check and a physical inspection to grade for sale - there is no repair or replacement of parts.

Indeed. My MBP is 'Refurbished' - it was indistinguishable from new when i got it. Same with Mrs Magnum's MBA. Apple Certified Refurbished products are every bit as good as a new item. With the exception of my current iPhone (15 Pro Max), I've bought pretty much all of my Apple kit via their refurb store with zero issues.Having bought a number of Apple refurbished items I could not tell them from a brand new item, other than it came in a plain white box rather than the product specific box.

Guys thank you all for comments.
s I said, I should have checked this myself. I would have paid the extra £110 to avoid taking up time with "renewed" stock which isn't really "renewed". I wonder whether it is a stretch to imagine that the phone I have here was last seen in the hands of a hooded moped rider in Chelsea!
I have resolved the issue by buying a new one from Amazon and initiating a return of the "renewed" one.
