I've used "Second Hand Phones" previously and been very happy with their service.

I've bought a couple of phones from Smart Celular. The sales process is good with a quick delivery time. They come with an 18 month warranty.
One of them failed within the warranty period and they took an age to get me sorted with a replacement. It all worked out OK in the end but if you have an issue, don't expect a quick fix.

Heard good things about Blackmarket. Also Music Magpie do loads of tech, trade in and for sale. They're a huge business although only bought second hand music from them but might be worth a look.
MusicMagpie - i've used them for 3 phones so far, no problems with any, and condition as described.Seconded MusicMagpie. Bought both my Note20 and Tab 7+ from them. Tablet died 10 months into the 12 month warranty and it was replaced with zero quibble.
Had completely the opposite experience from CEX who flatly denied a warranty claim within a few days of purchase of a phone that had obviously been traded in to them because of the fault and left me with a £500 brick.

I've had good experiences with Backmarket but also a more recent one that gave me pause for thought. I bought my wife an iPhone 13, and about 2 months down the line I tried to use it with a magsafe charger, only to find that it simply wouldn't stick to the back of it. It did charge but only if you manually held in place. The same charger stuck like glue to my own iPhone 13 (I can dangle the phone from the cable), so clearly some sort of internal part missing from my wife's.
It went back for repair, was returned two days later fully charged but with the exact same problem. Clearly they'd just stuck a cable in the bottom and called it done - reading the case notes must have been too much effort. They then agreed to refund, sent another return label but it was almost three weeks and a lot of chasing before any money actually turned up.
TBF, Backmarket is a little like Amazon Renewed in that it's a marketplace for third-party companies and repair shops under a central banner. You aren't really buying from Backmarket but from the various small outfits who find customers through them. You can see who you're actually dealing with during the checkout process - I'll almost certainly use Backmarket again, but I'll be careful not to use the particular third-party seller again!

I’ve purchased 4 phones so far from Music Magpie, no issues. One of them was faulty after a few days, easily replaced.
I purchased my iPad from CeX, I read on the internet someone suggested to buy only “pristine” if buying remotely as this grade is effectively good as new. Anything below that and your version of “very good” may differ significantly from theirs. I didn’t want to risk it. My “pristine” iPad was exactly that.
No issues from me with either company and would (and will) use both again in future.

I've had a few bargains off of the Currys clearance store on eBay, I think that you can still take stuff back to the stores for a refund if you don't like it.
