Samsung s24/s24+
Discussion
I know there is a thread on the Ultra, but does anyone have a regular s24 or s24+. I've got a s22 which is great apart from battery life, so that's the only reason I'm looking to upgrade. Can anyone conform how much of a step up real battery life is with a s24? The plus offers a bigger battery still, but would prefer the more compact size.
I upgraded for exactly the reason of battery life. My S22 was struggling to last till the evening and I'm not a heavy user.
Got a mega deal: S24U, Galaxy Watch, strap, case, screen protector for £830 something, including £280 for my year old S22.
I did slightly miss the more pocket friendly proportions of the S22, but everything about the S24U is better in every way and now I barely notice how big it is. The camera is spectacular, screen is amazing and even using maximum battery protection which charges to 79% I still manage a full day easily.
Hopefully I'll get 4 years or so from it.

I finally got rid of my trusty S10 for a standard S24 earlier this year. The battery in the S10 was on its last legs.
Samsung gave me £100 quid for it against the new phone which helped me make the jump.
The battery in the S24 seems pretty decent. I only ever charge it to 80% to help preserve longevity, but it still lasts most of the day.
I took it off charging around 7am. this morning. I've used it a for browsing the Web and sending a few WhatsApp messages. It's almost 5pm and it still has 30% charge from 80% this morning.

Not sure how you lot manage it. My wife's s10 is currently on 42%, and my s20fe is 53%. Both taken off charge this morning and not charged since. How does your battery life get so rubbish?
Same here, light user but my phone is at 68% ( Time 17:49). Not a Samsung but I have never had to charge any of my phones in the day, just its usual overnight charge at bed time. Chuffedmonkey said:

I charge mine at night only. Take it off about 6am, then put it on again at night. There has been an odd occasion when I have got to less than 10%, but mostly about 30%. I don't really use it much during the day, but do in the evenings.
My current phone, a Pixel 6 which is 2.5 years old has a function called steady charging over night. It will charge the phone to 100% before your morning alarm goes off. As i am typing this its at 58% ( time 19:26) and I have been in work all day.My phone before was an Huawei P20 and I never charged that during the day either. I think I would need to be watching YouTube, listening to music, browsing social media etc, all day to deplete my battery.

I have S20 Ultra. Charged every night to 100%. I find it odd that people who have had newer phones still have had to change to a S24. My battery ife is fine. Currently 44% and been off charge for 14 hours.
It's very dependent on use obviously, but also a s20 ultra has a much larger battery than a regular s22. The downside of more compact phones is the smaller battery, so incremental increases to battery size and more efficient chips should make a bigger difference on the smaller phones.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
