Android Calendar Weirdness
Discussion
My wife's calendar has some random reminders which she didn't add, and she can't delete.
Today, June 1, July 1, Sept 1, Oct 1, Now 1, January 1 and then every alternate 1st of the month there's an alarm for 8am and a smiley face. That's it.
I can turn off all her calendars from displaying (Samsung Calendar, Google Calendar and "My Tablet") but the smiley faces are still there.
All I can find on the net is somebody saying they represent Chinese days off, but that's a different thing.
WTF is going on?
I don't have these reminders.

Go to https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/r on her account and check "Other Calendars" (bottom left).

Is it any different or editable in any other way when viewed in landscape.
This is in landscape, because it's on her tablet, but if I look at her phone, the reminders aren't there. The only app which has calendar access permission on the tablet but not on the phone is Google Calendar Sync.

If I tap on any day in her calendar, the smiley appears on that day, but if I go to a different month, or close the calendar and then go back, the smiley is back where it started.
I have a smiley face on every single day, it's normal, never even thought about it.EtA- if I tap the face it let's me add a sticker.

It's not normal, because I don't have them at all, she doesn't have them on every day and they weren't there a week ago. It turns out there's an 8am alarm to accompany them.EtA- if I tap the face it let's me add a sticker.
Nope. Go into Month view, and today (for instance) has a smiley. Click on that and it's a reminder - 8am to 9am - apparently created by my wife, with an alarm.
The usual options to edit, delete etc aren't there. Just Save or Cancel. I'll try to get some screenshots, but she's doing something on it just now.

Consolidate to one specific calendar app across devices.
It's more than likely a recurring note/reminder/task which was added to whatever calendar that is. That could've been done inadvertently by accidentally triggering the likes of Bixby, G Assistant etc, or another app on the device which creates reminders or alarms.
If there's more than one assistant active then consolidate to one also.
If there's more than one account on the devices just authorise one account on the chosen calendar app etc
Just my 2c guess, not much to go on without trawling the devices and their apps and connected accounts.

She has the Samsung calendar, the Google calendar and the "my tablet" calendar. I've turned off each in turn and the smileys don't go away.
But, as Road2Ruin has covered above, I think she's leading me on a merry dance, the smileys just indicate what day you're on, and the alarm was for something else...
