Hi

As per subject, I’d welcome any recommendations on a new case for a new phone.

Until now I’ve only used the genuine Apple leather cases for other phones. I like these as they are not heavy or too thick and I don’t fonw the phone slips out of my hand but at the same time the leather material is not super grippy like I imagine silicon might be.

Looking at Apple branded cases I see the only genuine Apple choices for the 15 are silicon or fine woven.

I’ve read early reviews saying the fine woven is not that great so is the Apple silicon case ok or is there another brand I should look at ?

And can I use any of the MagSafe cases with a magnetic car mount or is that hit and miss on some cases?

Thanks in advance

I have a fine woven

It is okay, prefer it to a silicone one

I had the apple leather case for a quite a few iterations of iPhone. I now have an iPhone 15 pro and have the apple silicon and also the fine woven. I use the silicon case but really don’t like it, it’s ok in hand, a bit plasticky, but it is horrible to put in and out of trouser pockets. It doesn’t slide and grabs the pocket lining. Unfortunately the woven case is slippery and feels odd against the skin of your hand. I really dislike the fabric feel of it and it is not nice to use one handed. It is a shame they discontinued the leather case.

FineWoven production has quietly ceased recently due to poor quality

I’ve got an Otterbox Lumen on my 15P and it’s been faultless from launch day

Ive currently got FineWoven and its good.

Ive had silicon in the past and they have been great too but annoying when you pull the phone out of your pocked and the inner / contents can sometimes stick to the silicon.

Thanks everyone.
I wished apple still made the leather and am torn between the silicon which I suspected would stick into lining of suit jacket / trousers etc and the fine woven but it just doesn’t sound like the quality is anything like the leather.

Will check out the other suggestion.

I used to use the leather cases. I have the silicone on the 15 Pro Max.

It’s fine. Picks up a bit of lint but goes in and out of pockets easily enough. I like the soft feel in the hand.

I’d go with that.

I use Quadlock and have a car mount, a generic mount, and a mount on my bike. The car one is hard-wired so keeps my phone charged when docked, so I can use nav etc. Works really well.

The JEtech clear cases are decent. So cheap too

ESR, Ringke, Spigen, UAG and Otterbox cases are my usual go-to's - all Magsafe compatible as well

I'm running the UAG Monarch Rust case currently on my 15PM and it works faultlessly with the Spigen screen protector:

I like my phones to be well protected as I've rough hands but for when I'm training in the garage; gardening etc

It's all down to what you want and how well protected you want your phone etc

I'm using the Peak Design Everyday Case for my 15 Pro Max. A very nicely made case, and feels great to handle....

I am also using the Peak Design vent mount, to mount my phone while it is streaming Bluetooth & Google Map directions.

Apparently Apple will be ditching the Fine Woven cases. I have the Silicone one and it is fine.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Think I will go with the apple silicon case given I have a gift card to spend.

I have a Bellroy on my Pixel and really like it, feels good quality and the leather is holding up very well, I find it has the right balance between grippy in hand without pulling pockets inside out like clingier materials tend to..

I’m thinking of getting a Bellroy case. Have had one of their wallets for years and have been impressed with the quality.
