Purchasing advice required - Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Discussion
I'm looking to buy a wireless keyboard and mouse; having taken a look around (primarily on Amazon), it's clear that there's a wide variation on prices . . . . . . . and I can't understand why ?
Prices range from about £15 and go all the way up into the hundreds. Can anyone make a recommendation ?

I've just had delivered from Amazon a Logitec (actually branded logi but the box states Logitech) K270 keyboard & M195 mouse. Price was £19.99 delivered.
Keyboard seems identical to the K270 I bought 2 years age for over £30, except it is all black instead of black/grey.
The mouse is small & a little flimsy. As I already have a decent mouse this one will be kept as a spare.

Cheaper keyboards tend to have a plastic chassis and poor quality key switches. You may not care about either of those things but a more expensive keyboard will likely have a metal chassis and quality, mechanical key switches. The Keyboard Company have a good range, I have a Keychron K8 and a Logitech MX Master.

To an extent you get what you pay for, but prices become insane for the last bit of quality. More money means a more rigid keyboard, with choice of switches, which influence what the keys "feel" like to type on, and potentially illumination, which sounds childish, but I find rather cheering when WFH in the depths of winter.
If you're happy with the generic keyboard and mouse that comes with an HP, Dell or Lenovo office PC, the base model in either the Microsoft or Logi(tech) range would be comparable.

This is a good set, the keyboard weighs a ton. I needed something a bit more robust for working from home.

I have a Logitech K780. Fabulous keyboard with a channel into which I can put my iPad and iPhone plus I can connect to 3 bluetooth devices.
The wife finds it ugly, I like the keyboard and it works so damn well. Add any BT mouse to the mix.
If I was to buy again, I would get the version without the numeric keypad. 3-way BT on the keyboard is massive and never ever ever get one that needs a USB dongle thing. It's a waste of a USB slot.

I'd really like one with an integrated mouse/trackball?
One of the Cherry G84-4400 variants I think offers this, but be aware the key spacing is rather tight on the keyboard. A friend loves the Think Keyboards, but that is only great if you are happy with a TrackPoint.Edited by xeny on Thursday 4th April 13:15
My go to is the Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo.
Bought loads of these over the years, at £19.99 on Amazon, IMHO, you literally can't go wrong.
