John Lewis are doing Sony's XR55A95L TV at £200 off, so from launch price late last year of £2999 it's now £2299

The only hesitation I have is that the stands are at either end, requiring TV furniture of 122cm wide, and my current unit is 118cm. Before I order a wider item of furniture, has anyone here got this TV and found an alternative stand? I don't want a wider screen, I know there is an alternative stand available for the 70" model

The missus doesn't want wall-mount - is a free-standing VESA base an option?

Thx. Looking at product images, I’m not sure it has fittings for that type of bracket, but I’ll look into it further

Wait another month and 2024 model will be released and 23 model price will be reduced massively to clear stock.
Sony salesman was kind enough to give me that tip in John Lewis few years ago when i was looking to buy a couple of new sonys for our new house. Saved me £800 on their top spec 55 inch tv and the 43 inch tv for the kitchen wall was pretty much half price. You have to keep watch as they normally sell out within a week of the changeover but will save you a decent chunk of money.

Sony usually announce new TVs at CES early in the year, then release in time for Thanksgiving. No new Sony TVs announced at this year's CES.

I think the 2023 model came out around October, so if there were a tweaked model I'd expect the same timing this year (?)

A VESA stand that uses the wall-mount fittings should work fine for a 55” just find a heavy, robust one.

The A95L is an excellent TV, had my 65” since November ‘23 so highly recommend the model.

Well, after a year the set has developed a fault, and is being taken back by JL tomorrow in return for a full credit

A bit of a shame, as the picture is outstanding, and the acoustic screen sound is OK, but not exceptional.

Sony’s replacement Bravia 8 XR Mark 2 is due out any time now, so currently unsure whether to get that, or a Bravia without the acoustic screen, plus a soundbar (which the Mrs doesn t like the look of )

Has anyone got their hands on a K55XR8M25BP or a K65XR8M25BP ? Impressions?
