Hi

Does anyone know of a siren/alarm that can be activated remotely from an app if a trespasser is seen on cctv?

Have a problem/annoyance with people walking over land/steeling firewood/using it as a toilet…

Would be good to be able to activate some sort of alarm when I get a cctv notification that someone is there. Might deter people a little.

I don’t want it to be an automated alarm, as the cctv alerts are often triggered by trees moving in strong wind etc

Thanks

Hook the siren up to a smart plug that is app controlled? I have Meross smart plugs that (as long as you have a data / wifi connection both ends) I can control from anywhere in the world. Many other makes / types available.

The current model Netatmo Presence outdoor security camera has a built in siren that can be activated manually or when triggered be movement inside the “watch” zone.

There is no subscription cost with them either and they are both HomeKit and googlehome compatible.

Sirens can be really annoying for your neighbours... Maybe try a garden sprinkler system instead. smile

Ring flood lights can be set to detect a person and reduce false alarms. They also have a siren. I have a couple running off solar. It used to be that you did not need a subscription for alerts.

eta I know you said you do not want an automated alarm but it might be an option.

We have floodlights that activate when the cameras detect humans or vehicles. They don't go off for trees or animals, which is nice. Most companies do similar these days.

Are you on a particular CCTV platform at the moment?

I’ve got a few tapo cameras around the house, and a ring doorbell out the back.

I’m just after a siren that I can activate when I get an alert on the tapo camera that covers the driveway.

Cheers

It's the way you read it - the message isn't "put the front towards the enemy", it's "this side is the front. Point it towards the enemy."

The rear says "BACK" on it, just to save timebiggrin

Of a similar vein, an alarm mine can be useful in certain situations,

Get any mains powered siren.

Use either a network relay or standalone smart plug.

Just activate the smart plug from your phone as required.
