Is there an app or program that will just refuse cookie requests from websites by default?

Sounds like a great idea for people to have control over cookies and the info they collect but why do I have to state my preference of no I don't want your cookies every time I use the site.

Rant off.

Brave browser is pretty good at automatically saying no.

I was under the impression that just automatically accepts the cookies....

Just found that https://databrokerswatch.org/ has a downloadable list of c**nts.com so it may be worth blocking them directly, either using a Pi-Hole or by hacking the /etc/hosts file to redirect then to 0.0.0.0 on MacOs / Linux

Why didn't the law force companies to put in a reject all and don't ask again for 12 months setting I don't know.

If you want any sort of privacy you have to deal with this everytime because you cannot set it permanently, no doubt lobbyists saw to than one, just shows how important our data is to them.

You can set your browser to wipe cookies when you exit - you still have to accept them for each new site as you visit it but they will not be able to track you and each time you visit you are a "new user" to them.

You can then selectively allow sites that you either trust, or use too frequently to bother with the above, to store necessary cookies for convenience.

As a side feature / bonus, this effectively logs you out of any site when you close the browser.

This is what I do.

Erm... Because that setting is stored in a cookie

I'm serious, it's what they're for.

It's 3rd party tracking cookies that are the problem. Along with I Still Don't Care About Cookies I always run an adblocker and privacy filter to kill the cookies (because lets face it, if they're tracking you to monetise your data they're not going to stop because you asked them nicely), specifically Privacy Badger as it's published and maintained by the EFF.

It doesn't matter if the cookies are accepted or not, I bludgeon them with other extensions like Ublock Origin and Privacy Badger.
