Anyone else get this today?
My O2 sim only (was Virgin mobile) price will increase in April.....

From April 2024 the monthly price of your mobile airtime plan (that's your inclusive minutes, texts and data) will rise in line with the 4.9% RPI rate. Plus, an additional 3.9% as is set out in your terms.

EE sent an almost identical one out, and no doubt all the others are doing the same.

There was a ruling/directive from Ofgem that they were not happy with it as customers had no way of knowing in £ what the price increase was going to be when signing the contract. From memory contracts going forwards will specify a mid contract price rise in the paperwork, or you can go with one of the smaller providers who offer the same price across the whole contract.

It’s ofcom not often, but pretty much a toothless regulator who the operators pat on the head occasionally.

Same as Virgin
I’ll switch the moment that I can (City Fibre just arrived, alternatives like Toob are cheaper/good reviews/no in contract increases)

Interestingly I rang BT and discussed the situation. Resulting in same price that I pay now, fixed for 12 months, with an increase in speed from 73Mb to 500Mb. Result!

I’m budgeting for it being 44p. I doubt they will round down in favour of those of us skinflints on the £5 tariff.
