Evening ladies and gents,

In the next few weeks my current employer is shutting up shop, and I'm going out on my own. Most basic stuff is sorted, so I'm on the 'optional' stuff. I'd like to have a simple website, no shop or anything, just a few pages with what I can offer that sort of thing. To go along with that I'd like my own domain email rather than the generic ******@gmail.com that too many one man bands have. I found a few youtube vids on the subject, and going the Google option seemed the way forward from an ease of use and cost perspective, but when I looked in to it, Google have now sub'd it out to someone else.

I'll only really be looking at a .co.uk or maybe .wales and a 'sales' and 'accounts' email.

Any pointers would be appreciated

Cheers

https://www.mythic-beasts.com I use them for personal email. They were recommended on here a few times in the past.

Namesco.co.uk is who I use and have been faultless. Annual subscription plus a nominal monthly fee.

If you are configuring the website yourself then squarespace or wix are easy build platforms that also provide the web hosting & security aspects. Though are a monthly cost and higher than say a self hosted site and Wordpress but then you have the security aspects.

As for email hosting, both office & google will sell you plans that include office apps and email that are reasonable cost if those services are needed.

I'm another Mythic-Beasts user having had a recommendation from on here and am also about to swap another website I administer on to them at their next renewal point.

Thank you all for your replies, been a bit busy the last couple of days and hadn't got back to looking at it all. I'm going to sit down tonight and go through it all.

Cheers

If you go the Google Workspace route for email then it also includes Google Sites, a basic website builder.
