I've been going through some old kit and rediscovered an old Asus wireless keyboard...sans USB dongle.

Asus have said they no longer support that model, tough luck. (Not entirely unreasonably)

...so before I ditch it as junk, I wanted to find out if all 2.4GHz keyboards run the same interface, and if such a thing as a 'universal adaptor' exists for them? I can see Chinese / generic USB dongles advertised on eBay, but the cynic in me thinks that might be a too-good-to-be-true eBay special.

Anyone confirm either way?

Thanks,

Martin.

Look under the battery cover. There's probably a slot for the dongle to live in when not in use.

Whether you have used it is another thing...

Quick Google should tell you whether Asus dongles & keyboards are generic, in which case an eBay search might pay off, or whether the dongle is specific to the circuitry in the keyboard, which is very annoying.

No slot - already checked it over thoroughly. I'm not THAT silly...

Google tells me different things, depending on if someone is trying to sell me something or not (I REALLY hate Google now that the first 50 results are all trying to sell you st based on keywords, rather than a proper search based on the grammar input).
