Nokia XR21 mobile - will screen work in rain?

Could anyone tell me if the Nokia xr21 (rugged phone) will / can actually operate if the screen is wet....let's say if it's raining hard (I'm in Ireland), I'm outdoors and want to use a navigation app reliably say.

Related...does a screen protector enhance or detract (or neither) such functionality in the wet

Any phone I've had has gone haywire when I have it out in the hills and it's wet.

IDK the answer, but maybe a dedicated GPS device might be better e.g. a Garmin device?

If you can handle a regular Android phone, this one is designed to work normally even when the screen is wet. According to this review (scroll to the 9-minute mark) it does very well.

Thanks but unfortunately it doesn't have anything like the same overall waterproofness
