I have a weird problem:-
Over past coupla month's have been ripping my large DVD collection into .mp4 video files using either Handbrake and Freemake - I've probably ripped 150 DVD's so far without problems - recently however Handbrake has suddenly been unable to rip the DVD's properly - [the ripped files are 'blocky' unwatchable & sound is distorted]. Freemake seems to still work OK but the sound is not in sync with the picture?? Any ideas why this has suddenly happened?
I have not altered anything else on the Win10, 16 GB ram, i5 pc
I've also tried ripping on a different pc and the same problem exists?
Anyone else experienced problems recently whilst ripping DVD's
Could a recent Windows update be the cause?
Can anyone suggest a solution - I don't mind using/downloading another freebie program if neccessary.
I've also tried playing the dvd and copying direct from the pc screen using OBS studio but again the sound is not in sync with the picture on the saved Mp4 or MKV videofile - even though if you watch the DVD playing on the pc screen the sound matches perfectly - Duh??
I'm Baffled/flummoxed/stumped - Help smile

It says "beta" but it works like a dream. You can just use handbrake to compress after the rip to save space if you need to...

This^

Not used it for a long while but, iirc, you can set it to auto rip when you insert a dvd, without heaving to interact with the pc.
