I am no expert in tech stuff, so I am hoping someone can help.

I have an iphone 12. In my car (which has no bluetooth connection for music), I bought a Bluetooth cable that plugs into the aux socket that my car does have. Basically its a cable that plugs into aux and the other end is a little bluetooth dongle.

Work pretty well and lets me stream music through the car speakers.

However, if I plug the lightening cable into the iphone to charge it while streaming music, it cuts off the bluetooth connection.

Anyone know why?

Cheers

Is the Lightning plugged into the car itself, or a USB charger in the 12v socket? If it is the car's own USB the phone may think it is an audio output and drop the bluetooth.

Why not just plug the iPhone into the Aux socket?

Thank you to all of you.

A friend had a "no data" cable like the one recommended above which has worked perfectly. I have ordered myself one last night.

Re the reply above, my car does not charge via the aux socket, hence having to use a USB charger.
