Greetings from Cambodia, I’m typing this on my iPad using WiFi. My iPhone is set for data roaming and worked fine in other locations such as Hong Kong and Vietnam. Here I have 4G with 3 bars showing on my screen but the data will not work.

Looking online there’s suggestions to ‘Reset Network Settings’. That sounds a bit drastic so what are the likely implications?

Any other ideas?

Have you tried restarting the phone first? Sometimes when arriving in another country I find I have to do this to connect to the data.

Hey, I am in Cambodia at the moment too, where you at, Phnom Penh?

As above hard reset then pop the sim out and then back in, as sometimes it does not register it, plus you can choose which carrier you use in settings, I think the standard is Smart but switch to Cellcard and try that.

Did you mean soft reset? I would be doing that first.

I’d tried most stuff but removing the SIM card seems to have done the trick. Thanks.

I was due to travel from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh today but I think the local food got the better of me so decided not to chance travelling.

Lol, yeah it does that! There are plenty of rest stops on the new highway.

I will be in Kampot for a few weeks then off to Vietnam. Give us a shoutout if you come down.

FWIW - Remember that whilst you might have a strong signal, it doesn't mean the network has the capacity to provide you with a session... Think of it as like trying to use your phone at a major sporting event.
