We have an unknown beastie that comes into our garden and leaves huge calling cards . We have dogs so I am judging the animal about the size of a velociraptor or bigger.

I would like to put an inexpensive camera up that triggers when the monster comes in our garden and either records or shows me on my phone or tablet etc. we have WiFi and outside power if needed albeit battery would be easier.

I have no knowledge of this stuff , I don't know what I need , can someone recommend please a numpty version to capture the beastie in action.

If it is a new species I will post a picture on here .

You may be surprised by the lack of enthusiasm on here for watching an animal take a dump. On the other hand I've heard Ray Mears has posted before... .

I got this for £45
Wildlife Camera 2.7K Trail Camera... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B9XV4NMG?ref=ppx_pop...
Uses 8 AA batteries and records to an SD card, I use rechargeable batteries and it’s fine.

We were trying to work out what was digging holes in our garden last year so we bought a cheap wildlife camera. It worked surprisingly well:

I got something similar off Amazon. Good for getting pics of foxes and badgers away from the house. The supplied SD card was rubbish though. I’d recommend getting a SanDisk High Endurance card at the same time

As a velociraptor was the size of a turkey, I'm going for a nomadic turkey.

Do you live in between a pub and a council estate? Or possibly do you live in Oxford and get frequently awoken by a cry of "Buller! Buller! Buller!"?

Or are you someone who might have unknowingly attracted a dirty protest?

It's definitely an animal, we have found a hole dug to get under the fence today , where it gets in . Our garden is surrounded by wooden fence or stock fencing, made that way to keep our dogs in . We have also found two entrances to an underground lair about 100m from our house . Camera ordered this evening, I will report back .
I have been busy googling animal poo to try and identify it , however best match I got was giraffe 🦒.

The European Brown Bear is something of a hard nut by the sound of it... "likes to eat wasp nests and bee hives!" eek

Sounds like fox or badger, we get both using the same holes under the fence
