Currently on a 6 year old Galaxy S8. Staying android is a must and really don't want to go bigger than 6.1 screen if at all possible. Apart from calls and What's App the phone is only really used for emails, You Tube and general web browsing so doesn't need to be cutting edge tech. As long as it does things as well as the S8 I'll be happy.

Would be bought outright and hoping to pay less than £200. Any suggestions as to what I should be considering?

motorola G series is always an option, ive had about 5 or 6 of them over the years and they have all been fine.

Also a very clean android experience with little to no bloatware.

+1 Wife and I currently using G9s, the kids have our old G8s. Assuming the use the same hierarchy still, the plus does more, the play does less and the power has a big battery.

Just had a look at the Motorolas and they seem to tick most boxes apart from the size. They seem to be at least 6.5" screens and I'm hoping to stay closer to 6" if I can.

Latest Sony Xperia 10 V?

6.1" screen and can be had from Amazon Warehouse "Like New" for £260 (£333 full price)

Should be a nicer phone all round than the Motorola and more likely to last as long as your previous imo.

Do you top up every month? if so how much?

Reason i ask is there are sometimes decent contract deals if you factor in your regular top ups.

No, I'm on a sim only monthly contract with EE that still has free EU roaming. This is important as I travel quite frequently.

Google Pixel 7? Can get for less than £500 and will run a more pure version of android.

6.3" though.

Always had android and had many phones.... Nokia, Motorola, Samsung etc but the Pixel has always lasted the longest with no problems. Batteries are strong.
No bloatwear.
I'm currently on a Pixel 6 which is two years old and runs and looks as fresh as new.
The wife is still running my old Pixel 4.
Great phones.

Look at Xiaomj mi note Pro range. Excellent phones. Two to three day battery, top cameras, sensible money.
