Hoverboard Gyroor G2 app won't connect

I bought a new Gyroor G2 hoverboard as xmas present and testing it today I cannot get it to connect to the settings app via Bluetooth, the music speaker Bluetooth is separate and works fine. With app it offers to Bluetooth pair it but then says "can't communicate with ms...". The app is all the settings max speed, child / adult and I have no idea what they are defaulted to. Lots of app reviews say same but I see secondhand on ebay with pics of app connected. I've tried Andriod and IPhone. Don't really have time to return it need to try and get it working, anyone else here had this hoverboard and managed to fix this?
