Nanocast Snake oil?
Discussion
Hi folks
Anyone got any direct experience with this > https://www.nanocast.co.uk/
Snake oil or useful tech ? Specifically interested in Quality of image and brightness / ability to cope with daylight room.
If this one doesn't cut the mustard, what's the best ~ <£100 projector from your perspective ?
Thx

No direct experience but the fact the site doesn't list the lumens makes me think it'll be really weak in anything but a totally dark room - backed up by all the "real" photos of "real" buyers, where the photo is taken in a dark room. The spelling errors and general site layout also give me the impression this is a Chinese seller masquerading as a UK retailer.
I have a little mini projector that is best part of 10 years old by this point and I used it regularly for films, games etc, but always accepted the fact that you needed a dark room to get the best out of it (it has just 350 lumen output). IMO no pocket projector for under £100 is going to perform well in daylight conditions; you need to spend a considerable bit more to get one with enough lumen output, and by that time you're probably better off getting a mid/full-size unit rather than a pocket projector.
ETA I just searched for the device on Amazon and as expected the device is a pattern part and there are hundreds of resellers. Also lumens is 120, which is abysmal. For context, you need around 1500 for a decent-ish picture in a well lit room. So to answer your question - snake oil.

I recently bought one of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Projector-VOPLL...
Currently it's reduced to £129, with a £30 off voucher added, so £99. It's full HD 1080p, with support for 4K.
I have to admit that I'm very impressed with it, and use it on a 90" screen. It works ok in daylight although, as with all projectors, the darker it is the better. I previously had a Panasonic projector that cost 10x as much and this thing is much quieter, brighter, better picture quality and the bulbs don't wear out. Keystone and picture sizing controls are very good too, and it was easy to fit to my screen. The customer service from VOPPLS is very good too. I'm really pleased with it.
Another advantage is that if you get it from Amazon you can try it out, and if you don't like it you can return it without any fuss.
